Ayat al-Kursi (The Throne Verse)

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ
اللَّهُ Allah Allah (The One True God)
لَا إِلَٰهَ lā ilāha No god/deity
إِلَّا illā except
هُوَ huwa He
Translation: "Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining."
Tafseer: This verse establishes the absolute unity of Allah (Tawheed). "Al-Hayy" (Ever-Living) indicates Allah's eternal existence, while "Al-Qayyoom" (Self-Sustaining) shows His independence and His sustaining power over all creation.

Surah Al-Fatiha Opening

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
الْحَمْدُ al-ḥamdu All praise
لِلَّهِ lillāhi belongs to Allah
رَبِّ rabbi Lord of
الْعَالَمِينَ al-ʿālamīn all the worlds
Translation: "All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds."
Tafseer: "Al-Hamd" encompasses all forms of praise and gratitude. "Rabb" signifies the One who creates, sustains, and guides. "Al-Alameen" refers to all creation - humans, jinn, angels, and everything in existence.
